Capital Club 16: Food Parings with Austrian and German Wines

Capital Club 16‘s menus incorporate Old world European style of cooking with seasonal local ingredients. Throughout the 2017 Raleigh Food & Wine Festival weekend, the Downtown Raleigh restaurant will be serving classic German dishes like Sauerbraten, Maultaschen and Rouladen, as well as Schwammerlraqout, a vegetarian local mushroom an herb saute served over pretzel dumplings. Local specialties, like NC soft shell crabs from Locals Seafood will also be served.

All of Capital Club 16’s featured dishes will pair nicely with the classic varieties of German and Austrian wines. Sommeliers from Bordeaux Fine and Rare and Epiphany Wine Co. will be in the house to help with suggestions and talk about Gruners, Rieslings, Spaatburgunders and more..

Raleigh Food & Wine Festival (May 18-21, 2017) weekend also coincides with Spargelzeit, European white asparagus season. And
the spargel has just come in! Chef Jake Wolf and his will be offering specials with these delicate jumbo white asparagus along
with wine pairings all week long!
