Stella’s on West Brings Dive Bar Nostalgia to Glenwood South in Former Pink Boot Space

Stella’s on West, a new bar blending dive bar nostalgia with vintage charm, opened this past weekend just north of Glenwood Avenue. Owned by Lena Ali, Stella’s is taking over the cherished former Pink Boot space—a local favorite that holds special memories for many, including Lena herself. Located at 911 N. West Street, the bar is already creating a buzz among the community.

More than just a new spot, Stella’s on West aims to be a home away from home. Inspired by the dive bars of past generations, Stella’s provides a familiar, welcoming space where, as Lena says, “Everyone is a regular.”

The bar’s unique décor feels like a community art project, curated through a labor of love by patrons and neighbors alike. From thrifted records to collaged photos of family, friends, and familiar faces epoxied into the bar, every piece of Stella’s tells a story. The space is thoughtfully pieced together, making it feel like a nostalgic tribute to the community. Walls adorned with
photos of country music icons like Alan Jackson, Patsy Cline, and Waylon Jennings, along with Elvis-inspired details, create a timeless vibe that blends country and rock ‘n’ roll.

Stella’s on West offers classic drinks and a seasonal cocktail menu, ensuring something for everyone to love. Raleigh Magazine offers a deep-dive preview here!
